Cookie Policy
This policy explains how klipsy.ai and app.klipsy.ai use cookies and similar technologies. It is part of our Privacy Policy.
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file stored in your browser when you visit a website. Cookies allow the site to recognize your browser across pages and visits.
2. Categories of cookies we use
2.1 Strictly necessary (no consent required)
These are required for the Service to function and cannot be disabled.
| Cookie | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|
| __Secure-clerk-* | User authentication session (Clerk) | Session / 7 days |
| __clerk_db_jwt | Database session token | Session |
| klipsy-locale | Stores your preferred language | 1 year |

| klipsy:onboarding-completed | Tracks whether you've seen the playground tour | Permanent (localStorage) |
| klipsy:sound-muted | UI sound effects on/off | Permanent (localStorage) |
2.2 Functional (no consent required)
Used to provide enhanced features but not strictly required.
| Cookie | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|
| __stripe_mid, __stripe_sid | Stripe fraud prevention during checkout | 1 year / 30 min |
2.3 Analytics (currently NOT in use)
We do not currently use Google Analytics, Mixpanel, or similar third-party analytics. If we add them later, this section will list them and we will request consent first.
2.4 Marketing / advertising (NOT in use)
We do not use Facebook Pixel, Google Ads remarketing, LinkedIn Insight Tag, or similar tracking. If we ever add them, they will be opt-in only.
3. Email tracking pixels
Marketing emails we send (newsletters, beta invites) may contain a 1x1 tracking pixel that signals when the email is opened. This is used to measure engagement of our campaigns. We collect: open timestamp, IP address (truncated), client identifier. You can disable image loading in your email client to opt out. Transactional emails (account, billing) do not contain tracking pixels.
4. Web beacons in clicked links
Clicks on links inside our marketing emails may be routed through tracking URLs (so we can measure click-through rate). The target URL is preserved. You can hover any link to see the final destination.
5. Local storage (not strictly cookies)
The Playground stores prompt history, session state, and UI preferences in your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your browser and is not sent to our servers. You can clear it from your browser settings (Site Data → klipsy.ai).
6. How to control cookies
You can:
- Block third-party cookies in your browser settings
- Use private/incognito browsing mode
- Delete existing cookies (will log you out)
- Use browser extensions like uBlock Origin or Privacy Badger
Disabling strictly necessary cookies may prevent login, billing, or core features from working.
7. Do Not Track
We respect the DNT browser signal. When DNT is enabled, we do not load any analytics or marketing tracking (currently we don't use any anyway).
